Firm History
Upon the dissolution of a predecessor firm, Friend, Wilson, Draper & Bowling on February 1, 1994, partners Gordon F. Wilson, Jr. and David A. Bowling declined invitations to join several large regional firms, believing that a smaller firm structure could best facilitate their goal of providing effective legal representation to clients in need of the skills of trial counsel in the Louisiana court system. Thus, on March 1, 1994, the law firm of Wilson & Bowling was born. In 1998, Mr. Bowling obtained his license to practice in Mississippi in addition to Louisiana, and the firm opened a statewide practice in Mississippi. Mr. Wilson retired from active practice with the firm in 2008.
Throughout his 33 year career of trial work, Mr. Bowling has handled numerous complex cases involving medical malpractice, life-threatening personal injury, martime, and other civil litigation. Zachary Christiansen, a Tulane Law School graduate with an undergraduate degree in Engineering from Georgia Tech, joined the firm in 2012 and enhanced the firm’s capabilities with respect to the complex and technical cases for which the the firm is known.
The Firm’s Practice
For more than 30 years, the attorneys at The Bowling Christiansen Law Firm have had the privilege of representing individuals from Louisiana, Mississippi, and across the country in cases pending in the state and federal courts of Louisiana and Mississippi. The firm also regularly accepts referrals from other law firms. In addition to referrals from New Orleans attorneys, the firm is routinely enlisted by lawyers across Louisiana, Mississippi, and other states to handle cases involving difficult medical issues.
Many of these referrals are for medical malpractice cases as well as complex personal injury cases involving brain injuries, birth injuries, spinal cord injuries, and other catastrophic injuries and wrongful death. With decades of combined experience, the lawyers at The Bowling Christiansen Law Firm are well known for taking on these challenging cases. Their experience and knowledge in the medical litigation field is applied to the representation of the firm’s clients not only in medical malpractice cases, but also in cases involving maritime accidents, automobile collisions, industrial accidents, falls on business premises, and other casualties.
